Logo Upload

Your logo appears in the header of every page on your storefront.

  1. In Settings → Branding, find the Logo section
  2. Click Upload Logo
  3. Select your logo file (PNG or JPG)
  4. Ordery uploads and displays it in the preview
  5. Click Save Branding

Logo Guidelines

Format: PNG with transparent background (recommended) or JPG

Size:

  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Recommended dimensions: 200Ɨ200 pixels or wider
  • Minimum height: 50 pixels

Style:

  • Simple, clear, and recognisable
  • High contrast with white or light backgrounds
  • Avoid very thin lines that may not display well at small sizes

How it affects your storefront: Your logo appears in the top-left corner of the header. Clicking it returns customers to the home page.

šŸ’” Tip: Use a PNG with a transparent background so your logo looks clean on any page background.

Hero Image

The hero image is the large banner at the top of your storefront home page. It's the first visual impression customers get.

How to Upload Your Hero Image

  1. In Settings → Branding, find the Hero Image section
  2. Click Upload Hero Image
  3. Select your image file
  4. Preview how it looks
  5. Click Save Branding

Hero Image Guidelines

Format: JPG or PNG

Size:

  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Recommended dimensions: 1920Ɨ600 pixels (wide landscape)
  • Minimum width: 1200 pixels

Content ideas:

  • Your signature dish beautifully plated
  • The interior of your restaurant
  • Your team preparing food
  • Fresh ingredients or preparation shots

Style tips:

  • Use professional, high-quality photography
  • Avoid busy or cluttered images
  • Ensure good contrast so text overlays remain readable
  • Keep focal points centred or slightly off-centre

How it affects your storefront: The hero image spans the full width of the home page above the menu. It sets the tone and style for your entire storefront.

šŸ’” Tip: Update your hero image seasonally or to promote special menus (e.g., Christmas, summer, new launches).

Accent Colour

Your accent colour is used for buttons, links, and highlights throughout the storefront.

How to Choose an Accent Colour

  1. In Settings → Branding, find the Accent Colour picker
  2. Click the colour swatch to open the picker
  3. Select a colour that matches your brand
  4. Preview how it looks on buttons and links
  5. Click Save Branding

Colour Guidelines

What works well:

  • Bold, saturated colours for call-to-action buttons
  • Colours that contrast with white or light backgrounds
  • Hues that match your logo or brand palette

What to avoid:

  • Very light colours that don't stand out
  • Neon or overly bright shades that strain the eyes
  • Colours with poor contrast against white text

How it affects your storefront: The accent colour is applied to:

  • "Add to Cart" and checkout buttons
  • Links and interactive elements
  • Active category highlights
  • Status badges

šŸ’” Tip: Test your colour choice by previewing the storefront. Ensure buttons are clearly visible and inviting.

Slogan and Marketing Copy

Add a short tagline or welcome message that appears on your home page.

How to Set Your Slogan

  1. In Settings → Branding, find the Slogan field
  2. Enter a short, welcoming phrase (e.g., "Fresh, authentic Italian pizza delivered to your door")
  3. Click Save Branding

Slogan Guidelines

Length: 10–20 words maximum

Style:

  • Friendly and conversational
  • Focus on what makes you special
  • Avoid jargon or overly promotional language

Examples:

  • "Handcrafted burgers made with locally sourced beef"
  • "Family-run Indian restaurant serving traditional recipes since 1998"
  • "Freshly baked pastries and artisan coffee every morning"

How it affects your storefront: Your slogan appears beneath the hero image on the home page. It's one of the first things customers read.

Marketing Copy

Provide a longer description of your business for the home page.

How to Add Marketing Copy

  1. In Settings → Branding, find the Marketing Copy field
  2. Write 2–3 short paragraphs about your business
  3. Click Save Branding

Marketing Copy Guidelines

What to include:

  • What you specialise in
  • Your unique selling points
  • Why customers should choose you
  • Any awards, certifications, or achievements

Example: "At Mario's Pizza Kitchen, we've been serving authentic Neapolitan pizza to the community for over 20 years. Our dough is made fresh daily and topped with imported Italian ingredients. Whether you're dining in or ordering for delivery, every pizza is cooked to perfection in our traditional wood-fired oven."

Style tips:

  • Keep it warm and personal
  • Use short paragraphs (2–3 sentences each)
  • Avoid marketing buzzwords
  • Be specific about what makes you different

How it affects your storefront: Marketing copy appears below the slogan on the home page. It helps new customers understand who you are and what you offer.

Previewing Your Branding

Always preview your storefront after making branding changes.

How to Preview

  1. Go to Settings → Branding
  2. Click Preview Storefront (or visit your store URL in a new tab)
  3. Check that your logo, hero image, and colours look correct
  4. Test on mobile and desktop if possible

šŸ’” Tip: Ask a friend or colleague for feedback. They may spot things you've missed.

Best Practices

Keep Branding Consistent

  • Match your logo, colours, and fonts to your physical location or other online profiles
  • Use the same hero image across your website, social media, and Google Business

Invest in Quality Assets

  • Professional photos make a huge difference

Update Regularly

  • Refresh your hero image seasonally
  • Update marketing copy for new menus or promotions
  • Keep your slogan relevant and timely

Test on Mobile

  • Most customers browse on phones
  • Ensure your logo is legible at small sizes
  • Check that your hero image looks good when cropped on narrow screens

Common Questions

Q: Can I change my branding after launch? Yes, update it any time in Settings → Branding. Changes appear immediately.

Q: What if I don't have a logo? You can launch without a logo, but consider creating one soon. Even a simple text-based logo improves brand recognition.

Q: Can I upload multiple hero images? Not currently. You can change the hero image whenever you like, but only one displays at a time.

Q: Will my accent colour work with all themes? Ordery uses your accent colour across a light theme. Choose colours with good contrast against white backgrounds.

Q: Can I use GIFs or animated images? No, only static JPG or PNG files are supported.

Q: My image upload failed. What should I do? Check that your file is under 5MB and in JPG or PNG format. Try compressing large files before uploading.

Q: Can I remove the slogan or marketing copy? Yes, delete the text and save. Those sections won't display if left blank.
